THE SPECIALISTS
The Specialists Mod (known as TS), is a modification for Valve’s infamous first-person multiplayer shooter called Half-Life. It is a real fusion of ideas, taking inspiration from such famous Hollywood movies as Face/Off & The Matrix, mixed with the Hong Kong Blood Opera style of directors such as John Woo. All of this is added to classic yet innovative deathmatch & team play game types and mixed with an arsenal of realistic weapons, real freedom of movement, a great selection of maps and serious amounts of carnage. All of the above combine to create one of the most fast-paced, exciting and spectacular mods available.

One of the features that The Specialists is known for is “Bullet Time”, the ability to manipulate time to pass in slow motion. The game also makes heavy use of stunts, even rewarding players with scoring bonuses for stunt combinations, and also has a simple, yet complex, kung fu system for melee attacks.
The different game modes are available in TS: the first mode are subjective, the last is not. The way you play depends on your choice of weapons, your own personal style and the map that you’re playing on.
You know what to do, all versus all. Get the other guy before he gets you. The odds are stacked against you, but a true Specialist wouldn’t have it any other way. In team deathmatch players are split into teams and can work co-operatively to bring down the enemy.
The TS version of the classic ‘Capture The Flag’. Two (up to four) teams, briefcases to capture and all the rest you get in Deathmatch game modes, such as powerups and slowmotion. There is only one official map for this gamemode (ctb_deadheat) but our comunity is working hard to change this.
All players spawn on a map and fight to the death. No respawning is allowed until one player has emerged victorious over the rest.
At the start of the map, one player is randomly selected as ‘The One’. This player has to defend him or herself against all other players. When The One is killed, the person who killed them becomes The One, and so on. In order to help you survive, The One automatically receives a kung-fu, a superjump powerup, as well as a health bonus for every enemy killed. Added to this, he gets a free Slowpause powerup.
